Safety
SprintRounds is a live video-meetings app — by design it assumes moving from an online conversation to an in-person meeting. That is why we put safety first. This page brings together in one place everything worth knowing before you meet.
Your account
- Only an adult may create an account — we verify the date of birth both on the app side and in the database.
- Your email and phone number are not visible to other users. We show only your first name, photos, city, and bio.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Once deleted, no one will be able to message you or see your profile.
Your first in-person meeting
- Always choose a public, well-lit place: a café, a restaurant, or a well-known location in the city center.
- Tell a trusted person where and with whom you are meeting and when you plan to be back. Turn on real-time location sharing if you use that feature on your phone.
- Get to the meeting using your own transport or public transit. Do not get into the car of someone you do not know personally.
- Do not leave your drink unattended. If you feel strange, contact the venue staff or the emergency number 112 immediately.
- Do not send money, share login credentials, or hand over documents. Report profiles that ask for this.
- Trust your intuition. If something feels off — leave. Leaving requires no justification.
Video conversations (Speed Date)
- Each speed date round lasts a few minutes and is governed by the community rules. Report inappropriate behavior using the “Report” button visible during the conversation.
- Do not share private photos or information during a round — save that for 1:1 conversations after a mutual match.
- You can mute your microphone or turn off your camera at any time. Pausing your own stream does not end the round.
Reporting violations
- In the app: the “Report” button in chat, on a profile, on a match tile, and during a video conversation.
- The first line of decision is the event organizer (who knows the context). Matters outside events, conflicts of interest, and reports the organizer does not act on within 48 hours are automatically escalated to the platform team.
- Serious matters (harassment, content involving minors) result in an automatic temporary suspension of the reported person’s account until verification.
- We inform the reporter of every decision with a push notification — we do not leave reports unanswered.
Blocking and privacy
- You can block any user without giving a reason — Settings → Safety → Blocked.
- Once blocked, that person will not appear in any of your events (matchmaking skips them) and will not be able to message you. Any existing chat is archived on both sides.
- You can unblock a person at any time — they then return to your matchmaking pool for future events.
When to call 112
- You feel physically threatened or you witness violence.
- Someone is trying to detain you against your will.
- The meeting starts to go beyond the agreed plan in a way that worries you.
Remember
Most meetings end well, but even the best rules cannot replace common sense and your intuition. If something worries you — stop and write to us: hi@sprintrounds.app.
